Magic Leap has promised to launch a developer conference for years and now the company is finally making that promise. On Wednesday, Magic Leap sent the official announcement for its first L.E.A.P. Conference, which will take place in Los Angeles in October.
In recent days, CEO Rony Abovitz hinted that an event came, but now we have details.
Calculated like the company's "The First Conference for YouTubers, Developers, Partners, and Pioneers from Around the World" is free and includes a keynote event, workshops, demos, networking, and social events. For those who are wondering, the L.E.A.P. Acronym stands for learning, engaging, accelerating and programming.
Usually, these types of conference events are announced long in advance, so the sudden short-term planning makes the meeting appear hastily organized. (Although this has been a year of work for developers and fans, it's only a month in advance.)
However, Magic Leap believes that the community is small enough to announce a little more than a month ago The kick-off should be enough to attract participants. If some estimates of 3,000 devices sold are even scarce, then Magic Leaps event is likely to be quite small and intimate compared to conferences from Apple and Microsoft.
The exact dates are October 9th and 10th and the company is offering a limited number of hotel rooms at a discounted rate subject to availability. In addition, the exact details of the conference schedule remain a mystery.
