There are only three more episodes of Game of Thrones before the saga is over, but Magic Leap takes advantage of the popularity of the series as long as this is still possible.
As we've already reported In recent weeks, Magic Leap has demos of its augmented reality headsets in select AT & T stores across the country with its "Dead Must Die" experience coming from the Game of Throne's universe dates back. Now the startup has added a new ad to encourage consumers to come to the stores and try out the device.
Magic Leap released a trailer Monday featuring some details about its Game of Thrones . The experience looks like this.
The trailer is a pretty accurate representation of what the Magic Leap setup looks like in stores, including the now famous trunk that contains a zombie that begins to crawl on the user. Later in the trailer, we see a White Walker wrapped in virtual snow on a wall.
The downside is that the trailer does not come with the announcement of new places where fans can try the experience. The clip, however, blends in with a particularly poignant plot in the series that took place on Sunday (no, we will not spoil it, check it out for yourself). This experience was also offered during the film festival for a limited time at last week's Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.
So far, there are only five publicly advertised AT & T locations offering Magic Leap One demos: California (Westwood, 1100) Westwood Blvd., Los Angeles, California, Texas (Addison Village, 5100 Beltline Road, Ste. 1032, Addison, TX 75254), Boston (the Boylston AT & T Store), Chicago (the Michigan Avenue AT & T Store), and San Francisco (the 1 Powell AT & T Store).
It's still not known when or if the experience will be made available to all owners of Magic Leap One, but Magic Leap's Chief Content Officer, Rio Caraeff, says "Stay tuned" on this front so that it might appear soon.
If you can not reach any of these stores but the new trailer persuades you to buy, AT & T has begun to sell the device on its official website.
