The way iOS handles notifications has always been far from ideal, but with iOS 12, things are improving. Part of this is the new way to change the way notifications are handled directly in Notification Center.
With the introduction of iOS 1
Managing notification center notifications is a great way to make sure you never see the annoying gaming challenge of your time again. Upgrading to iOS 12 alone is almost worth it. Once you've done that and received too much irritating notification, instead of rejecting it, swipe left.
You will see three options, and the ones you need to tap is "Manage."
Next, four options will be displayed.
- Silent delivery: Allows you to receive notifications, but will not display any sounds, banners, or logos, or appear on the lock screen.
- Turn Off: This option does exactly what sounds like by disabling all notifications for that app.
- Settings: This brings you the more detailed notification options in the App Settings. Here you can change how notifications are displayed and what sound they make when they arrive.
- Cancel: This button cancels the dialog and returns you to the Notification Center.
The relevant option is the first one here, as it allows users to continue receiving notifications that may not be important but may be worth watching. Game notifications are a great example of such notifications. So, if you prefer not to have audible notifications but want to miss something, this is the option for you.
Alone, this feature makes iOS 12 notifications much easier to manage So users can remove notifications from their lives when gum hits the street instead of being put off by the idea of immersing themselves in settings.
