ManoMotion Updates Its Hand Tracking SDK for Smartphones with Skeleton Tracking «Mobile AR News :: Next Reality



If two hands are better than one, two hand-tracking SDKs must be better than one.

After uSens announced its Hand Tracking SDK at the Augmented World Expo in Santa Clara on Thursday, ManoMotion unveiled the latest version of its own SDK. Both technologies allow apps to track hand gestures with just one smartphone camera.

7, while earlier versions of the SDK only focused on the core issues, such as: B. fingertips and the middle of the palm. In case you are wondering, the uSENSAR Hand Tracking SDK also offers Skeleton Tracking.

"Over 2,500 developers have applied for our SDK to hand gestures in everything from video games to UI control to controlling devices like lighting and so much more," said Daniel Carlman, CEO of ManoMotion. "Due to our team size, we were limited in the number of customers we were initially able to work with and are now better positioned to better meet the demand for the latest SDK version."

The new version also provides rotation support for landscape and portrait layouts as well as layer support, allowing apps to position virtual objects relative to played hands. While the SDK only works with a smartphone camera, ManoMotion provides support for gesture controls even for depth sensors.

And because two hands are better than one, ManoMotion has added support for tracking two hands in real time.

ManoMotion manages to provide all these functions without burdening CPU, memory and battery consumption. The SDK supports iOS and Android apps, as well as the associated ARKit and ARCore toolkits, as well as a Unity plug-in to support development for apps on other platforms.

In addition to the updated SDK, ManoMotion will launch a number of sample apps that help developers familiarize themselves with the platform. The SDK app gives users a general demonstration of the functionality of the ManoMotion tool. The Remote Guidance app, which will soon be available on the App Store, shows how technical support experts can support virtual remote support scenarios. Rounding out the suite are two games, an ARKit-powered drawing app, la Just a Line, and an app called Magestro that challenges gamblers to hand-control Nanoleaf lights.

The ManoMotion SDK is a freemium service escalation level based on customer requirements and custom solutions for larger businesses. Developers can sign up for access through the ManoMotion Preferred Access website.
