The existence of the film was first reportedand Marvel as part of Phase 4 of the MCU.
Who is Shang-Chi?
The character, a The half American, half Chinese master of unarmed combat first appeared in Marvel comics in 1973 when ABC TV drama Kung Fu became popular with David Carradine. Shang-Chi was born the son of the super-villain Fu Manchu, but later resisted the methods of his father. In 2013 he joined The Avengers. He was also a member of the Heroes for Hire, but is often only a loner.
His main force was not really a traditional superpower – instead he had the ability to master combat forms and was nicknamed the "Master of Kung Fu". Although in later years he gained the power to replicate himself, which could prove useful.

What else do we know?
The Mandarin Rules
Fans were quite excited when they heard that the villain of the movie is The Mandarin. The character is a nemesis of Iron Man. He was portrayed by Ben Kingsley in Iron Man 3, but it turned out that Mandarin was a cheater. A Marvel short film, All Hail the King, revealed a little bit of information about the real Mandarin who is responsible for the criminal organization Ten Rings.
What about the Ten Rings?
Speaking of Ten Rings of the title: no, it does not refer to wedding rings or the five golden rings of the Christmas carol. The Ten Rings is the once dormant international terrorist group kidnapping Tony Stark in the first Iron Man movie. While Stark is being held captive by the Ten Rings, he builds his first Iron Man suit. Former members are next to the Mandarin, among others, Jackson Norriss, the cybercriminals Cordo Gaines and the late Raza.
Martial Arts Legends
Fans hope for true martial arts experts like Jackie Chan, Jet Li or Donnie Yen will have roles in the film, although nothing has been announced so far.
Fu Manchu Has Problems
Fu Manchu is Shang-chi's father, but the character is controversial because he represents the worst in anti-Chinese stereotypes. "I'm pretty sure Marvel will cut him out of it all," comic writer and artist Jim Starlin recently said in an interview. He continued at the Comic-Con in 2019 and said about Fu Manchu in the comics: "I was appalled by these … yellow hazard books, which are not politically correct at all, anyone who is not white is in those matters vicious. "The South China Morning Post calls Fu Manchu" an insulting symbol of anti-Chinese discrimination. "
Who is your dad?
With Fu Manchu's problems, Marvel will retrain Shang Chi's lineage and make the Mandarin his father instead. Or, as IGN.com points out, Marvel could turn a character named Zheng Zu into his father. Zheng Zu appeared in the comics as a mystical wizard who used Fu Manchu as one of his many identities. Seems like you associate the hero of the movie with the big villain, but Mandarin has a more dramatic potential. Luke Skywalker can tell.
Originally released on July 25 and updated as news about the movie goes down.
