Deleting emails can be a tedious process on the iPhone, especially since the "delete all" options have been removed since the release of iOS 10. While this change may well be well-intentioned, it represents an inappropriate burden on us all iPhone owners who now need to delete emails individually.
Deleting individual emails can be a waste of time. Do not believe me, this is true for iOS 10, iOS 11 and iOS 12. Fortunately, there is a little-known bug that will allow you to keep track of all unwanted emails at once can delete.
This simple trick works with one of your email folders, whether it's marked or unread. So if you want to mass-delete junk emails, I'll show you how to take advantage of this nifty bug, as it may disappear with the arrival of future iOS updates (even though three important iOS updates have already been made)
First, go to any folder where you want to remove unread email from the Mailboxes view. This can be a default folder for any account, such as Inbox or Archive, or a folder that you create yourself.
If you want to remove everything in this folder, you do not have to filter it anymore. Continue with step 2 if this is the case. Otherwise, tap the three-line filter icon at the bottom left to hide your Inbox by selecting either "Unread" or "Marked" in the Include section.
If you want to record everything, you can also select "To: Me" and "Cc: Me" under Addresses . All filters or filter combinations on the page work. In my example, only all unread emails are deleted from the folder.
Step 2: Save all e-mails you want
Next you need to check whether you want to keep emails. So, scroll through the filtered view to make sure you're not deleting any important emails. If you find something that you do not want to delete, you have several options.
Select the e-mail, tap the folder button below, and then move it to another mailbox. This marks the next e-mail as unintentionally read as it is automatically displayed. You must mark them as unread before proceeding. For this reason, it's better to use the alternate method that lets you save multiple emails at the same time: Tap Edit in the upper-right corner of the folder view, select all the emails you want to keep, and then tap "Move" appropriate folder.
Delete the e-mail left to display it Tap the additional options button (•••) and mark it as read. To mark multiple emails as read, tap Edit in the upper-right corner of the folder view, select all the emails you'd like to save, and then tap Mark and Mark as Read ". Since they will not disappear from the filtered list, as you would when moving to another folder, you must tap the filter button in the lower-left corner to exit the filter, then tap again to return to the filtered view.
If you are sure that only unwanted E Emails are sent emails remain, it's time to continue. At the top right, tap "Edit." If you are in edit mode, select only a email by tapping the circle to the left of it.
Now comes the magic part. Tap and hold the "Move" button down, but do not let it go. Then tap to deselect the selected e-mail. Then you can release your finger from the "Move" button. This will select all emails in the filtered view at the same time. On the next screen, tap Trash to delete all emails. You can tap the filter button again in the folder view to see what's left.
