She made a brief appearance during the season’s premiere last weekend, but with the Vice Presidential debate a few days ago, this week was Maya Rudolph’s time to shine as Kamala Harris.
“And now that’s what’s going to change everyone’s mind,” said the announcer at the top of the sketch, before introducing Kate McKinnon as USA today ‘s Susan Page, who explained the “buffet snuffers” between candidates by saying that one of the two candidates “works for patient zero”.
In a matter of moments, Harris Beck closed Bennett’s pence on a flurry of “I speak” telling viewers of her plan to smile at the vice president like “like I̵
Alec Baldwin’s Trump apparently had the week off, but the same couldn’t be said for Jim Carrey, who re-appeared as Joe Biden, watching the debate from home, and desperate to join. And this is where the fly came in.
You see, Biden teleported to the debate, but it turned out there was a fly stuck in the machine, which ultimately led to a parody of the 1986 science fiction film The fly in which Carrey pretended to be Biden and played Jeff Goldblum.
And then there were two birds. “Man, what nonsense is Mike Pence trying to pull?” Kenan Thompson asked before revealing that he was Herman Cain, who died of COVID-19 after attending President Trump’s June 19 rally in Tulsa.
“Reincarnated like a goddamn fly and those fools, Trump and Pence, killed me man!” he said Biden. “You invited me to a rally without a mask and said everything is fine, Herman. I catch corona. Trump tells me everything is fine, Herman. The White House doctors are checking me out, they say everything is fine, Herman. I’m gone three days later! When you see this at home, don’t trust that white devil because of that ‘Rona.’
“OK, I think we have to end this debate for the good of humanity,” said the moderator. “Senator Harris, do you want to do what everyone at home wants to do?”
After Harris hit Pence in the head with a fly swatter, Herman asked Cain, “Am I dying again?”
