She has now tested negative for the virus, as has her husband, President Donald Trump, according to his doctors.
“Of course, my thoughts immediately went to our son,” she wrote. Barron Trump initially tested negative after she and the president signed Covid. But the teenager was tested again and was positive. Trump says her son had “no symptoms” and now tested negative.
The president told reporters on Wednesday that Barron was “fine” when asked how his son was doing after Melania Trump’s essay.
As for her symptoms, the first lady wrote that they were “minimal, although they hit me all at once and it seemed like a roller coaster ride of symptoms in the days that followed”
She said she had body aches, coughs, headaches and was extremely tired.
Unlike her husband, Melania Trump did not go to hospital for treatment and remained confiscated at the White House residence, her spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham told CNN.
Similarly, Trump writes that she did not opt for the same treatment as the president. They have “chosen a more natural route” and have relied on “vitamins and a healthy diet” rather than a cocktail of drugs.
Although the first lady picked up a few pressure-sensitive adhesives about wearing masks while her husband was still violating their uses, she has made high profile appearances without them – including the first presidential debate. She also delivered a Rose Garden Speech, which was filled with an audience during the Republican National Convention.
The first lady was also maskless in the rose garden more recently when she announced Trump’s new candidate for justice to the Supreme Court. This event has since been hosted by Dr. Anthony Fauci described as a possible “super spreader” from Covid-19.
At solo events, including a trip to New Hampshire last month, her first trip since the pandemic outbreak, the first lady wore a mask, except when getting on and off her government plane.
Since the first couple was diagnosed, Executive Residence staff have taken precautions to protect themselves and others, including wearing masks and personal protective equipment. This emerges from a discharge from the first lady’s office.
The president has shown little concern about the spread of the virus, however, but has traveled in the past few days to speak to thousands of people and has baselessly claimed he is now “immune” to the virus. He has also shown little empathy for others who have gotten sick or lost family and friends to Covid-19, choosing instead to ridicule those – especially his rival Joe Biden – who wear masks and social distancing between other CDCs and the public practice health guidelines.
