Please wait; I just got used to the TicPods 2 Pro earbuds! The new TicPods 2 Pro + from Mobvoi improve their predecessor with single earbud pairing, volume gestures, additional audio codecs and a new design. The new TicPods 2 Pro + is the same price as the base TicPods 2 Pro at $ 1
Like their predecessor, the new TicPods 2 Pro + run on the QCC5121 chipset from Qualcomm and support touch or voice commands. They also have IPX4 splash resistance and dual microphone noise cancellation.
However, the new TicPods 2 Pro + have a redesigned charging case that improves on the weak floppy case of its predecessor. They now support volume control via voice commands or gestures, as well as an individual pair of earphones that allows you to listen to the left or right earbud without taking his sibling out of the case. The basic TicPods 2 Pro supported individual listening, but only through the left earbud.
Mobvoi is expanding the TicPods 2 Pro + with additional codecs, whereby you can choose between AAC, aptX and SBC on Android devices. Apple devices are stuck with AAC, the codec that iPhones are optimized for.
However, Mobvoi doesn’t improve two of the TicPods 2 Pro’s most notable flaws – its muffled sound and hard plastic design. Mobvoi still leans towards the Airpods aesthetic, which can be a dislike for people who like strong bass and rubberized tips in their ear holes. (This is why we prefer the comfortable TicPods Free!)
The new TicPods 2 Pro + are available for $ 140 on the Mobvoi website. They ship immediately and should arrive in 2-4 working days.
