"You're going to tip over," states an invitation Motorola sent to the media for an event that is almost certain to unveil will include a new version of the old Razr flip phone.
The event, taking place in downtown Los Angeles on the evening of November 1
When Motorola spoke in December 2018 with CNET about the idea of reviving the Razr, the company even noticed that the phone, while people after one new version of the Razr, need to be revived in a way that is not superfluous and delivers an incredible experience. "We need to figure out how to make a breakthrough," said Raul Pierce, co-designer of the original Razr.
These are encouraging words and it will be interesting to see what Motorola has developed. We expect a more modern foldable device, perhaps with two screens or a single foldable display. This seems to be the only thing Motorola could do for this phone to be more than just the old Razr with faster chips and a sharper screen.
Less encouraging words came from a January 2019 Wall Street Journal report claiming that the new Razer would cost $ 1,500 and produce only about 200,000 units. According to speculation, the new Razr will feature a state-of-the-art Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 2,730 mAh battery, 4 GB or 6 GB RAM, 64 GB or 128 GB memory, as well as color options such as white, black and gold.
We'll find out fast enough how exactly that is.
