In March last year, Movies Anywhere announced it was developing a Screen Pass digital rental program that would allow your friends and family to rent your digital copies of movies. After a long beta, Screen Pass is now available to everyone. With some limits.
Screen Pass works similarly to giving your DVDs to a friend. Just skip the dirty DVDs, all only needs a Movies Anywhere account for everyone. You create a Screen Pass for the song you choose and give it to a friend or family member. Then they can view your copy of the film.

According to Movies Anywhere, about 80% of the catalog can be shared. That’s about 6,500 films, and the list is growing. However, some movies cannot be divided. And you can only share three screen passes per month, which likely limits your use of screen badge as a method to avoid paying for movies in total. After all, it’s a loan service.
However, you can pair a Screen Pass with Movies Anywhere’s Watch Together feature. So if your friend wants to watch a movie with you but you need to stay separate because of the global pandemic, this is a decent solution to the problem.
The Screen Pass is available to all US customers starting today.
