Which teams are involved and what are their odds of winning?
The teams with the worst three records of the past season – the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns – each have the best chance of winning the draft lottery (14 percent) and the number one (aka Zion). The Chicago Bulls had the fourth-worst record and a 12.5 percent chance of winning, followed by the Atlanta Hawks (10.5 percent) and Washington Wizards (9 percent) before settling for the New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks and a 6- percent chance fell Memphis Grizzlies.
The teams with the longest lottery probabilities are the Minnesota Timberwolves (3 percent), Los Angeles Lakers (2 percent), Charlotte Hornets (1 percent), Miami Heat (1 percent) and Sacramento Kings (1 percent).
After the four best lottery teams have been drawn, the other lottery teams will pick in reverse order of the regular season record when the NBA Draft takes place on June 20th.
