If you've just purchased a new Apple Watch Series 5 ($ 41
Before you can use your new watch, you need to set it up. If you already own an Apple Watch, you must first disconnect the watch from your iPhone. This is a relatively smooth process, but you have a number of ways to navigate.
We will guide you by pairing an Apple Watch with your iPhone and disconnecting and deleting the old clock. We will also show you how to activate a new mobile plan or remove your previous one. If you want to go step by step, watch the video below.
Pair a new Apple Watch with your phone.
First, charge both your iPhone and your new Apple Watch. It's not important that both devices have a 100% full battery, just enough to go through the pairing process and back up your old Apple Watch.
Next, take a moment to install the tape. Just press the button next to the band on the bottom of the watch and hold it down. Then slide the tape into position until you feel a click. Repeat for the other side.
Now place your Apple Watch on your wrist and find a nice, comfortable fit. Turn your watch on by holding down the side key until the Apple logo appears on the screen. A pairing screen should be displayed on your iPhone. Touch Next .
If this screen does not appear, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, and then tap Start Pairing .
A pattern of blue particles appears on your Apple Watch. Position your iPhone so that the Apple Watch appears in the camera's viewfinder when prompted. After a moment, the two devices are paired.
Now tap Set up Apple Watch and follow the instructions on your iPhone and the Apple Watch to complete the setup. At this time, you can restore a backup of your previous Apple Watch to your new one.
If you can not or do not want to use your iPhone's camera for pairing, you can manually pair Apple Watch at the bottom of your phone. When the screen of your Apple Watch shows the blue particle pattern, tap the information icon (that's the letter "i" in a circle in the bottom corner). A six-digit code appears on the screen of your watch. Enter this code on your iPhone when prompted. After a moment, your iPhone and your Apple Watch will be paired and you can continue to set up your watch.
Turn on the mobile service on your Apple Watch.
Once you're paired and have made some settings, you can enable the mobile service on your Apple Watch, if supported. If you are not sure whether your watch can connect over a cellular connection, look at the digital crown. If it is red or has the outline of a red circle, then it is a cellular model. Otherwise this is not the case.
If you have not already done so, make sure you can add a watch to your support plan. Prepaid packages and some older accounts may not support additional devices. And I should note that your iPhone and your Apple Watch must be on the same network operator. So, if you have an iPhone on Verizon, but want to switch your Apple Watch to AT & T, it will not work.
On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app and the My Watch tab. Then tap Cellular and Cellular Setup . Then follow the instructions of your operator. Essentially, you are accessing your account. As with setting up your phone, you may need to contact your wireless service provider for help.
How to disconnect an Apple Watch from an iPhone
When you disconnect your Apple Watch, the factory settings are restored. However, before your Apple Watch is deleted, your iPhone will create a new backup that you can restore to a new Apple Watch.

First, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Next, open the My Clock tab. Tap on the Apple Watch at the top of the screen. There are two ways to erase your Apple Watch.
If you do not have your iPhone or have problems solving it, you have two other ways to delete it.
Delete your watch: Go into your watch's Settings app, then to General and then to Reset . Touch Clear All Content and Settings and then enter your passcode.
Delete from your iPhone: Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap the My Watch tab. Then go to General then Reset and then tap to delete Apple Watch content and settings .
Delete your Apple Watch mobile plan: Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Touch the My watch tab and then Mobile. Touch the information circle next to your mobile plan. Finally, tap Remove Verizon Plan or the name of the operator of your plan. If that does not work, contact your wireless service provider to remove your Apple Watch from your mobile plan.
