The Vantage V2 starts with a new “Leg Recovery Test”. You don’t need any additional sensors. The watch uses insights to determine whether you are ready for a full workout or should take a break.
This is similar to what previous Polar watches could provide, but these were less specific and designed for restoring the entire body. According to Polar, new running and cycling performance tests also let you set heart rate, speed and power zones to see if you are achieving your goals.
As with most fitness watches, you get a heart rate monitor and GPS to keep track of your progress. While it is a fitness watch, the Vantage V2 offers some smartwatch features like weather information, music control and notifications.
Polar’s Flow ecosystem gives you access to tools that you can use to plan your workouts for an entire season, including tracking your activities and sleep cycles. In addition to the watch, Polar is introducing a new Test Hub that allows you to see all of your data along with metrics and results information in one place.
You can pre-order Polar Vantage V2 today from the company’s website for $ 499.95 in black, green, and gray. Polar will also bundle it with an H10 heart rate monitor for $ 549.95. The watch will be delivered on October 14th.
