The same procedure will also work on an iPad or iPod Touch ($ 200 at Walmart) with the latest version of iOS . This two-second process has just paired it with your iPhone, Mac, iPad and your Apple Watch ($ 349 on Amazon) .
Pairing with an Android Phone
Of course, you can also use the Powerbeats Pro with a third-party device. If you have not yet paired your earphones with another device, open the case next to your Android phone and go to your phone's Bluetooth settings menu.
If you already paired the earphones with another device, place both earphones in the case and hold the button near the front of the case until the status indicator begins to flash white.
& # 39; Hey, Siri & # 39;
Thanks to the H1 chips from Apple used in the Powerbeats Pro, the earphones immediately support the wake-up command "Hey, Siri". If you use the earphones, just say "Hey, Siri," followed by a command to play music, read messages, or ask Siri questions. You do not have to wait for Siri to respond after the first wake-up phrase – just keep talking.
Disable Automatic Ear Detection
The Powerbeats Pro automatically detects when it is inserted into or removed from your ear. If you prefer not to have an audio break or want to start automatically, you can disable it.
When using the Powerbeats Pro, open the App Settings on an iOS device and select Bluetooth. Tap the "i" next to the name Powerbeats Pro> to switch automatic ear detection to Off .
Rename Your Beats
If you want to customize the name used in Bluetooth menus for your Powerbeats Pro, you can do so in the same Bluetooth settings. On an iOS device, go to Settings > Bluetooth > Tap the "i" next to the Powerbeats Pro name> Name . Enter your custom name and exit the Settings app.
Both earphones have volume controls and a button that can trigger Siri and control media playback. The Beats logo is a multi-function button where different controls trigger different controls. Here are the actions we've discovered so far:
- Long press: Triggers Siri
- Press once: Play / Pause
- Double click: Skip track
- Press three times: Back one track
And yes, the physical controls even work on devices from other manufacturers.
Checking battery life
Check the battery life of your earphones and the charging box by placing the earphones in the case and opening them next to your unlocked iPhone. A pop-up window will appear similar to the original pairing request indicating the battery life of all three parts.
Another option is to enableand to display the battery life if you actively use the Powerbeats Pro.
In the box under the charging case, you'll find a how-to booklet, a USB Lightning cable to charge the case, and three additional earphone sets. Each set has a different size, so you can find the best fit for your ears.
The Powerbeats Pros wrap around the back of the ear and that too is adjustable. The earloop is bent in any direction so you can position the earbuds for a tighter or loose fit depending on your comfort.
With the charging case, you can quickly charge your earphones. You get 1.5 hours for a 5-minute fee and 4.5 hours for a 15-minute fee. Overall, the Powerbeats Pro has a battery life of up to nine hours.
If you are curious: Charge your earphones by placing them in your suitcase. The right earphone must be on the right side of the case, and the left earphone is on the left side. When you insert the earphones into the case, magnets guide the earphone to the right place. The charging case is charged via a Lightning connector on the back of the battery.
