Like our desktop browser, our phones often open multiple tabs at the same time. On phones, however, not all tabs are listed horizontally above. To switch between tabs, you need to go to the tab switch page and then find the link you want to reopen. If you use Chrome, there is a faster way.
Open the Chrome browser on your iPhone or Android device. If you do not already have it, you can install it below.
- Install Google Chrome: Android (free) | iOS (free)
With the two or more tabs open in the address bar, swipe left to toggle between the tabs. This gesture will take you to the next active tab. If you want to return, swipe right in the address bar and you will be taken back by one tab.
But let's say you want to jump to a tab further down in your tabs list. Slapping tabs at once is obviously not optimal here.
If you're using Android, there's another handy way to swipe tabs. Just swipe down the address bar at the top of the screen and you'll be taken straight to the Tab Switcher interface. From here, you can scroll through your list by swiping up until you find the tab and then selecting it to switch.
