Recover Deleted Spotify Playlists on Your Phone – No matter When You Have Removed Them «Smartphones :: Gadget Hacks

Deliberately or accidentally deleting your favorite Spotify playlist, which you've meticulously created for hours or days, can be devastating, as there is no obvious way to do it bring it back. However, there is a hidden setting in the popular streaming service that lets you recover deleted playlists ̵

1; all you need to know is where to look.

Regardless of whether you have an iPhone or an Android device, you can quickly recover deleted playlists. but not on the official Spotify mobile app. Instead, you must access the web version of Spotify in your favorite web browser and retrieve the playlists from your account page. Why does not Spotify integrate this recovery option into its mobile apps? Who knows, but at least there is a way to do this.

How to Delete a Spotify Playlist

Before we start restoring a playlist, let's first briefly explain how to delete a playlist. If you know how it works, you may be able to prevent unwanted playlist deletions in the future. If you already know how to delete playlists in the Android or iOS app, go to step 1.

In the Spotify app, go to "Your Library," then "Playlists." Any playlist you've ever created (or followed) is displayed here. Tap a playlist you've created, followed by the horizontal or vertical skip icon in the top right corner, and choose Delete Playlist. A pop-up will appear asking if you really want to delete the playlist: Tap "Delete" to delete the playlist from your account.

Of course, the pop-up helps to accidentally delete playlists, but you may also remove the wrong playlist. This can happen if you have playlists with similar titles or if your opinion is elsewhere (this happens to us all or at least to me all the time). Luckily, recovering lost playlists is easy.

Step 1: Access Your Spotify Account in a Web Browser

The official Spotify app on your smartphone does not provide a way to restore a deleted playlist. You therefore need to access the Web Spotify version in any web browser.

Visit spotify.com, and then tap the three-line icon in the upper-right corner of the site to open a sidebar menu. Select Sign In, enter your Spotify credentials, and tap Sign In again.

Step 2: Restoring the deleted playlist

After logging in successfully, an overview of your account will be displayed. At the top of the page, touch the Account overview drop-down menu and switch to the "Restore playlists" option.

A list of all the playlists you've ever deleted are displayed in the order in which they were last deleted. It shows you the name of the playlist, the number of tracks, and the time it was removed. To restore the playlist, tap Restore. If successful, the playlist will be highlighted in green.
