You can access the New Item menu by clicking the New Item button in a File Explorer folder.
You can also access it by right-clicking an empty area in a folder and then pointing to the New option in the shortcut menu that appears.
Some programs add new file types to automatically switch to this menu, which can make the menu clutter-free if you probably never use it. To remove an entry, you must go to the Windows registry and delete an entry.
