As much as streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify have dominated the music industry, so alive and well is radio. And why should not it be? Free music, 24/7? It is very much. That's why it's so cool that your iPhone can instantly access your favorite radio station, even one across the country.
In iOS 13, you simply ask Siri to tune in to a radio station of your choice, and the digital assistant will follow suit. You can connect to any compatible station in the district. For best results, use the call sign (WNYC) instead of the frequency (93.9 FM). You will know that your chosen station is not compatible if Siri rejects the request or the assistant starts playing the wrong station.
Of course, you can still ask Siri to connect to Apple Music radio stations like Beats 1
