After Seth Meyers gave viewers a quick recap of all the damn stories that have plagued Donald Trump for the past 24 hours – culminating in the president’s admission to anger writer Bob Woodward that he had misled the public about the coronavirus – , Seth Meyers shared the Fox Business host’s reaction with Lou Dobbs.
“President Trump had a great day today,” Dobbs told the audience on Wednesday. “A day that every president could only dream of.”

Even more annoying to Meyers, however, were the efforts Fox News presenters like Sean Hannity and Steve Doocy made to back up Trump’s claim that he was just trying not to panic the American people.
“Oh yes, totally, Trump is the image of calm and balance,” said Meyers. “He has spent the past four years claiming that migrant caravans are coming to kill everyone, and planes full of mysterious black-clad thugs have been flying across the country to burn down American cities. He is the human embodiment of screaming “fire” in a crowded theater. Of course you can panic these days when you shout ‘crowded theater’. ”
Then the host turned back to the president himself and said, “I’m damned fed up with seeing this guy try every excuse until one lasts. They just know that Trump is the guy who takes a bite out of every chocolate in the box. ‘Are some of them filled with sauce?’ ”
“Even the decisions are not a lie or panic,” he continued. “There is a third option where you tell people the truth and do something about it, which would calm everyone down. But no, we chose the man who puts tape over the light from the control motor. ”
