Using Apple Pay

After you add your card, you can use Apple Pay instead of a physical bank card.

To make a purchase from the lock screen, double-click the page key ( iPhone X and XS ) or double-click the start key ( iPhone 8 and older ) and select Paying with passcode . Keep your device near the card reader when prompted. The payment service provider of the store then recognizes it.

You can also pay online with Apple Pay in Safari or in-app purchases. All you need to do is select Buy at Apple Pay and use your Touch ID or Face ID to authenticate the transaction.

Apple Pay is accepted at most locations. Note, however, that there are still a few points sales registers that are incompatible with the system.
