Samsung has been behind the curve for years when it comes to fast charging. Until the Galaxy S10, most of their phones used the very slow adaptive fast-charging system. Whether it was the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco or any other reason, Samsung was reluctant to open the charging case. Until now.
With the Galaxy Note 10+ Samsung developed from very conservative to very liberal. The new charging system of the Note 10+ has by far the highest performance of all US smartphones. What does all this power mean? In short, much faster loading. With this new system it is no longer a disadvantage to have a larger battery, since charging does not take much longer.
The Pros and Cons of Adaptive Fast Charging Ditching

The low power output has its advantages. Firstly, the amount of heat generated by the charging increases with increasing power. This in turn reduces the battery capacity. At such a low power output Samsung smartphones lose battery life after unpacking slower than the competition.
The other advantage is that overnight charging is less harmful to the health of the battery. The problem with overnight charging is not only the excessive heat load of the battery, but also the load on the battery by maintaining the 100% capacity. When the battery is fully charged, it will be charged similarly to the heat of a fast charging system. As adaptive fast charging takes longer, Samsung's batteries had to spend less time maintaining a 100% capacity overnight.
Despite these advantages, the industry has been pushing higher performance chargers because of its main advantage: much faster recharging times. This speed can actually combat the disadvantages. If your phone charges faster, you do not need to recharge it for less heat. And a good fast charging system makes overnight charging superfluous. Put your phone in the charger while you get ready in the morning and it will charge before you leave.
What makes Samsung's new fast charging system so special? The system transmits more power than any other phone in the US. At 45W, Samsung's Super Fast Charge 2.0 (SFC 2.0) delivers 50% more horsepower than its nearest competitor, OnePlus® New Warp Charge 30. Although USB Power Delivery can deliver up to 100W of power, no smartphone can this record advantage of this crowd, including the Google Pixel 3 and Apple iPhone X S Max.
Such high performance allows Samsung to pass on another advantage to consumers: larger batteries. Higher battery capacity means more time to get a full charge. A good example of this is the 4,100 mAh battery of the Galaxy S10 +. With the adaptive fast charging system from Samsung, the charging process takes well over an hour. If Samsung had integrated the same fast charging system into the Galaxy Note 10+, charging would be slower as the battery is even bigger.
With such a quick charge, however, the larger battery of the Note 10+ takes approximately as long to charge as the little Galaxy S10e. Although we do not have exact numbers, we can make some assumptions based on the Galaxy S10 5G using a 25W charger. The battery is larger and can be recharged more than 50% within 30 minutes. This means that if you're using the 45W charger with the Galaxy Note 10+ (with 200mAh smaller battery), you should achieve over 60% in the same time frame.
There are some disadvantages
