Warning: Possible spoilers ahead for stranger things 3.
The show came out of nowhere in July 2016, with a setting from the 1980s and rich pop culture details. Young Will Byers disappears one night after playing D & D with his friends in Hawkins, Indiana. The evolving plot includes a secret government lab, a young girl with psychokinetic powers, a spooky upside down dimension filled with monsters and dope, and Christmas lights that flash an unnerving message. It boosted the heel of Eggo Waffles, Eleven's favorite snack, and created a whole movement that sought justice for Barb, a beloved character whose deadly disappearance from a pool sent the fans out of the deep end.
The show was renewed for a third season, and co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer say a fourth and fifth season are likely. Here's a little taste of what strange things await.
We will update this story as new information is released.
When? From where? What?
Season 3 will come sometime in 2019 and will be eight episodes long, as will the first season (but one less than Season 2). It takes place in the summer of 1985 and jumps one year after season 2 ahead.
In the past two seasons, Netflix has released all new episodes at once, making the series another bang-up for binge-watching. We expect the same episode at once, although we have no confirmation.
Production began on April 20. On April 27, Netflixof the cast, which settled down to read what is probably the first script of the new season. (In real Erica form, Priah Ferguson tells the audience, "Get out of here, nerds!") Unfortunately, there are no spoilers, but it's fun to see the cast again, even though it only sees the back of the head.
How to Look
Get a Netflix subscription. Stranger Things is a jewel in the service crown of the original series, and it's the best way to ensure that you get all the new episodes plus access to the first two seasons.
Not sure, Netflix is worth it? The service offers a free one-month trial. So if you sign up just before the premiere of the new season, you can enjoy the new season and the two previous years and then cancel your membership without penalty. But we're still expecting two seasons of the show, so you may need to sign up later (or find a friend who has subscribed to Netflix, who will invite you).

Elwes, forever known to many as Westley in The Princess Bride, comes to Hawkins, where he will play the mayor of the city. "Handsome, slick and sleazy, Mayor Kline is your classic 80s politician – more concerned about his own image than the people in the small town he governs" .
Busey, son of acclaimed actor Gary Busey, will play Bruce, described by Netflix as "Hawkins Post's journalist with questionable morality and sick humor."
What we know the plot
Love is in the air: The romantic duets of Eleven / Mike and Max / Lucas are still in season 3 together, but how long? "They are like 13- or 14-year-old kids, so what does romance mean at this stage of life?". But Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, stated that the show will take place in the summer of 1985, calling it "the summer of love". Wolfhard was not in the first summer of love in 1967, and he was not born yet for the summer of 1985. But his quote seems to indicate that love and relationships will be part of the third season, for good or for ill
Not all romance will be all hearts and flowers. David Harbor, who plays chief of police Jim Hopper, said that while his character will "take more risks with these new languages of intimacy and vulnerability," he will "throw on it and be dreadful."
Fatherly Martyr: Also in the summer of 2018 [Harbor] Harbor told the Tampa Bay Comic-Con crowd that he knows how he would like to bend his character. "I would like to take a ball for Elf," he said. And when the fans cheered the selfless response, he replied, "Now you're all happy I'm dying!" No fears. I think Hopper will stay until the end of the show. If he ever lives happily (with Joyce?) Or heroically exchanges his life for Eleven, we have to wait.
New Faces: Finn Wolfhard appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in August 2018, pointing to some new additions. "We're in the middle of filming," Wolfhard said. "We have new actors, some incredible people." But that was all he was going to spill for, and Fallon quickly changed the subject to make fun of what he was supposed to do in the show as a "strange uncle or something." New characters are no surprise, and if they play lead roles, as Max and Billy did in season two, details will be coming out soon.
More D & D: The first season started with the main boys Dungeons and Dragons, who certainly helped to annoy the show for all of us. Expect more of Season 3's fantasy role-playing game. As Comicbook.com pointed out, artist Jared Flaming said on Instagram in April that he was teaching the show's propmaster about the game.
Dad Steve is back: The older teenage character Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), who turned out to be a big brother figure for Dustin in season 2, will retain that role. "I'm just saying that we will not give up the Dad Steve magic," Levy told THR.
Back in time: Ghostbusters was an important theme in Season 2 and Michael J. Fox The film "Back to the Future" will be a key element this season.
Sing it, sister: Lucas's cheeky younger sister Erica (Priah Ferguson) will get an expanded role this season, and rightly so. "There will definitely be more Erica in Season 3," co-creator Ross Duffer told Yahoo Entertainment. "We need more Erica" - that was one of the first things we said in the writing room.
Keeping pace with the Byerses: Millie Bobby Brown, who plays the Elf, did her best to start a crazy rumor about the new season, during an interview with E. In mid-May, Brown asked Co Star Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), whether he would like to see reality show star Kim Kardashian on Stranger Things, a bewildered snap thought the casting was a reality, and Brown introduced him by claiming that Kardashian was a character Called Kardashian himself, Kardashian himself seemed to be on board tweeted an enthusiastic response . (Fan Opinion: NOOOOO PLEASE NOOOO!)
