Taylor Swift's eagerly anticipated seventh studio album Lover will be released on August 23, and we're here to make sure you're 1
Four tracks from the album – Me !, You Need To Calm Down, The Archer and Lover – are already available worldwide and can be streamed. Together, they point to a sparkling pop album that contains a strong mix of radio-friendly catchy tunes, dreamy synth pop, and the devastatingly vulnerable writing Swift has repeatedly shown us.
Two of the previously released songs were produced by Joel Little (from Lorde's Melodrama) and two by Swift's frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff. It is not yet known if Swift has re-worked with Max Martin and Shellback, who are responsible for some of their biggest hits like Blank Space and Shake It Off.
A fifth song, The Man, was heard by Vogue and is described in the publication as a "thought experiment" on how Swift's career (and related adventures and mishaps) would be perceived if she were male.
With the album being 18 tracks long, there are still 13 songs by Swiftian that we have not heard yet, and of which we know nothing other than that they are obviously lyrical and melodic masterpieces. Of course you do, so use the time between now and then to prepare.
If you are a Spotify subscriber, the streaming service has a handy tool that lets you automatically save the album and all singles in advance to your Spotify library as they become available.
Apple Music and iTunes
Apple Music has a similar feature that lets you add the album to your library before publishing. However, if you really want to support the album and want your own music, you can also pre-order it on iTunes.
Deezer subscribers are not excluded from the lover's streaming bonanza. The service will have Swift's new album, as well as the rest of their discography.
Lover already has 4.9 stars in the Google Play Store and it's not even out yet. That's the power of Taylor for you. You can now pre-order the album so it will be ready for download on the day of the launch.
Only days left until you can say, "Alexa, stream Lover by Taylor Swift!" You can stream Swift's new album for free on Amazon Prime Music Unlimited and listen to it offline. Amazon also gives you the option to purchase the album as a download or in a physical format.
In the age of streaming, you may not need to buy physical copies of an album. But if you're a Swiftie, you might miss it if you do not invest in at least one of the four Deluxe versions of Lover.
Each version contains a different set of Taylor's diary entries, handwritten texts and archived photos, and substitute pages where you can add your own diary entries. You will also receive two bonus audio memos, a poster and a textbook. Visit Target on the day of publication to purchase it, or Swift's website for more information and merchandise bundles containing the album.
