Taylor Swift's eagerly anticipated seventh studio album Lover will be released on August 23, and we're here to make sure you're 1
Four tracks of the album – ME!, You Need To Calm Down, The Archer and Lover – are already available worldwide and can be streamed. Together, they point to a sparkling pop album containing a potent mix of radio-friendly catchy tunes, dreamy synth pop, and the devastatingly vulnerable writing that Swift is always capable of.
Two of the previously released songs have been produced by Joel Little (from Lorde's Melodrama) and two of Swift's frequent collaborators Jack Antonoff. It is not yet known if Swift has re-worked with Max Martin and Shellback, to whom some of their biggest hits are attributed, including Blank Space and Shake It Off.
A fifth song, The Man, was also heard by Vogue and described in the publication as a "thought experiment" on how Swift's career (and related adventures and mishaps) would be perceived if she were male.
So, with the 18-track album, there's still a Swiftian 13 songs that we know nothing about, except that they'll obviously be lyrical and melodic masterpieces. Do you want to hear them? Of course, so use the time to prepare.
