The Nintendo Switch has become a gamers favorite console, and if you have a Switch owner in your life, you have probably picked up on that by now. And as with most technologies, some accessories go a long way towards making it more enjoyable to use. So, if you̵
Note: This accessory was selected for the full-size Switch, not the smaller Switch Lite. Therefore, accessories on this list such as tote bags, docks, handles, and screen protectors will not work with the Switch Lite. We also have a summary of the accessories for the Switch Lite.
A quality controller: Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
While Joy-Cons offer serviceable controllers, many gamers still prefer a traditional controller. And when it comes to that, there’s nothing like the Switch like the Pro Controller. In terms of design, it is similar to controllers like the Xbox One, but a combination of top-notch build quality and numerous features make this controller well worth the price. This controller has gyro controls, wireless connectivity, HD rumble, and 40 hours of battery life to top it off. You can also use it to scan Amiibo by tapping the Nintendo Switch logo.
If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to the Pro Controller, PowerA’s Enhanced Controller is a great option. It’s also a wireless controller, and while there is no rumble, it still has gyro controls and some “advanced game buttons” on the back of the controller that can be reprogrammed.
A retro controller: 8Bitdo SN30 Pro +
Here’s another high quality controller, but this time it’s more geared towards retro gamers. The Switch has plenty of legacy content, and the SN30 Pro + can tackle anything with grace and hold its own in modern titles too. The D-pad-centered design is ideal for 2D gaming, and the shape of the controller itself is modeled on the SNES controller. It also offers 20 hours of battery life, rumble, gyro and a wireless connection to the console.
The SN30 Pro + can be customized to a high degree using the “Ultimate” software from 8Bitdo. Here you can remap the joystick sensitivity, rumble intensity and even the buttons. Overall, it’s a great controller and comes in three colors: Black, “G Classic” Edition (based on the Super Famicom) and “SN” Edition (based on the SNES, see image above).

A mighty dock: Skywin Switch Dock
Most Switch owners will of course build a collection of controllers and games for their system. You need a repository for all of that, and everything should be kept near the Switch for convenience – and Skywin has the solution. With this towering dock you can place the normal switch dock in it and it is ideal as a storage solution for game bags, cassettes and controllers. It can even act as a controller charger.

A lowkey dock: J & TOP portable switch dock
Once the Switch dock is set up, you no longer want to move it around every time you want to play it on a different TV – that’s just annoying. That’s why this little dock from J & TOP is so great – it’s small and has everything the regular Switch dock does, including a USB-C port for charging and an HDMI out. Its small size makes it ideal for moving around or taking with you. This is also ideal for setting up the switch in a bedroom or home office.
The J & TOP portable dock is available in black (see image above), purple and green.

Get a grip: JETech protective cover
The Switch can get uncomfortable after a while in portable mode. Hence, it’s a good idea to get a handle on things to make things more ergonomic. This simple handle from JETech has only two goals: to protect the switch from bumps and provide a more comfortable shape for holding. It is available in four colors: black (see picture above), blue, green and plum.

Keep it safe: Tomtoc carrying case
Getting a carrying case for the Switch is extremely important for gamers on the go, and the Tomtoc case balances size, storage and durability exceptionally well. The case has a hard outer shell that protects the system from drops and spills. It is hardly thicker than the switch itself and even offers space for 10 game cartridges. It’s a quality case and an excellent travel companion for any Switch owner.
The Tomtoc tote bag is available in 11 colors: black, blue, camouflage, coral, galaxy, gray (see image above), green, mint blue, pink, red and twisted orange.

Protect the screen: ivoler protective films made of tempered glass
Scratching the screen of an expensive device like the Switch is never a good feeling, so getting some screen protectors is a must for any Switch owner. These three packs of screen protectors from ivoler should last a while, and since they’re made of tempered glass, they won’t interfere with the use of the touchscreen. It even comes with a handy microfiber cloth for cleaning the screen.

More storage space: SanDisk MicroSD cards
Downloading games to a Switch can hit that 32GB limit pretty quickly. A memory card is a necessity for those who buy their games digitally. SanDisk’s microSD cards are both high quality and have many capacities from 16GB to 512GB.
Keep it going: Anker PowerCore 10000
For Switch gamers, battery life is a precious commodity – especially if it’s not one of the newer models with improved battery life. Hence, a battery is a useful thing, and it has to be a decent size to power the Switch. Anker is not only known for its high-quality battery banks, but thanks to the 10,000 mAh capacity of the PowerCore, a switch can be charged from 0 to 100 percent and a few more. Its compactness also makes it great for stowing a bag when you’re on the go.
