Google Sheets add-ons work much like browser extensions. These are third-party apps that you install in sheets for additional functionality. Some add-ons increase productivity and others offer more features. To get started:
Installing an add-on
To get an add-on, open a new or existing file in Google Sheets, click Add-ons, and then click Add -Ons retrieve ".
You can browse the list of all add-ons. Use the drop-down menu to search by category or use the search bar. If you find an add-on that you like, click the "Free" button to install the add-on (if it's a paid add-on, this button reflects the purchase price.) When installing add-ons, you must grant them specific permissions. This is essential to the functioning of the add-on to work properly. Make sure you fully understand the permissions and trust the developer before installing an add-on.
After you have installed an add-on, click "Add-ons," point to the desired add-on, and then click either on "Start" or "Open". This will launch the add-on or link the sidebar to your window.
Removing an Add-On
If you no longer need an add-on, you can easily remove it from Google Sheets.
Click Add in your document, then click "Manage Add-ons."
Scroll to the appearing window the add-on you want to remove, click the green Manage button, and then click Remove.
The selected add-on will be removed and the " Manage is replaced by the Manage option Blue "Free" Install Button.
