Now that Samsung has upgraded DeX for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+, more users will try to use their phone as a "supersonic" PC. With a simple USB-C to HDMI cable or adapter, you can turn your Touch 10 into a desktop that gives you unrestricted access to your apps.
However, not all USB-C-to-HDMI cables and adapters are the same. You can save money by connecting just a monitor or TV, or you can use a USB-C hub that expands the touch-screen USB C output to multiple ports. With a hub, you can truly turn your phone into a desktop experience – connect a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and even Ethernet, and you'll barely be able to tell the difference.
. The simplest solution: USB-C to HDMI cables
The cheapest way to get DeX running is to use a USB-C to HDMI cable. Connects at one end to the USB-C port on your phone, and the other end connects to an HDMI port on any monitor or TV.
Note that you can only use a different port with one of these cables. Accessories (such as a keyboard and mouse) are transmitted over Bluetooth because the only physical connection on your phone is busy.
To be sure that OEM accessories are on offer, you can buy Samsung's official DeX cable more than the market price. The cable is about 2 meters long and supports HDMI 2.0 and 4K resolution.
To save money, you can opt for a third-party cable. The best option we have found is the Choetech USB-C to HDMI cable. This is a 3m long braided cable that is both long enough for most needs and durable enough. On average, it is less than half the price of Samsung's official cable, yet offers identical specifications.
