The best-selling single ever?

Answer: White Christmas

The best-selling single of all time is the 1942 Christmas classic, Bing Crosby's "White Christmas." Although the song was sung by Bing Crosby for the film Holiday Inn (19459007), the song was written by composer Irving Berlin. Berlin pointed out the success of the song and said shortly thereafter to his secretary: "Grab your pen and take this song down. I've just written the best song I've ever written ̵

1; hell, I've just written the best song anyone has ever written! "

If you want to argue with Mr. Berlin, you might want to take a look at the sales documents first. "White Christmas" has sold over 50 million singles of the Bing Crosby version, and if you include other artists, more than 100 million singles have been sold worldwide since it was released in 1942. By comparison, the next most popular single is Elton John's double a-side charity single "Candle in the Wind 1997" / "Something about the way you look tonight", a tribute to Princess Diana with 33 million sales.

Christmas Carols Have Something Magical Sweeping The Singles Charts – the perspective of the 25 best singles of all time leads to five carols: the aforementioned "White Christmas" as well as Bing Crosby's "Silent Night", Mariah Carey's " All I Want for Christmas Is "You" (16 Million Sales), Gene Autry's "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" (12.5 Million Sales) and Band Aids "Know It's Christmas" (11.7 Million Sales) ,
