Microsoft has promised to stop installing unstable updates when you click Check for Updates and submit it now. Instead of automatically installing such updates, Windows will provide the "Download and install now" button. The button was displayed on PCs today.
Previously, we warned against clicking the "Check for Updates" button to install frequently unstable updates. Windows Update would normally wait to install major updates such as the October 201
In other words, the "Check for updates" button often means "Please provide me with unstable updates that require more testing." In fact, Microsoft warned people not to click on blog posts that no average Windows user would read.
Microsoft announced major changes to Windows Update on April 4, 2019. Instead of automatically installing these updates, Windows will display them as optional in the Windows Settings app. 10. The Windows Update section includes the "Download and install now" link when these less stable updates are available. You have the choice of installing them, even if you click on "Check for updates".

As Bleeping Computer discovers, some Windows 10 users already see this interface. An "Additional Updates Available" section contains a cumulative update that is not yet installed automatically. We have not seen this interface on any of our Windows 10 systems yet, but Zac Bowden of Windows Central has. Microsoft is probably rolling it out slowly.

It is reported that the change to systems with the May 2019 update of Windows 10, also known as, appears in version 1903 or 19H1, but may also appear on older systems.
If the update is available in May 2019, it will not install immediately – you will need to click "Download and install now" on one of these links. Otherwise, you can keep your current version of Windows 10 for up to 18 months after it's released. When these C and D updates arrive at the end of a month, you can safely click Check for updates without installing them. Just wait a few weeks and you will receive the updates in the next B update after they have been tested.
