With the release of Android Pie, Google has added many new features and enhancements to users. Android Pie is now smarter, has a slightly different look, a new screenshot tool and an option to remove the navigation buttons on the screen.
Android Pie gives users the ability to use common task gestures such as opening the app drawer, switching apps, and closing apps. Before you can use the new feature, you must enable it by going to Settings > System > Gestures > Wipe up Home , Immediately after activating the function you will notice that the three buttons on the bottom disappear and are replaced by a pill-shaped button in the middle and a small back arrow.
The gestures take some getting used to and they certainly are not gonna be for everyone, but if you want to give them a try, let's take a look at how they work!
Go home or go back
You can get home from any screen with a single touch of the "Home" button .Pressing on opens Google Assistant, and of course the back button works in the same way Way that he always has on Android.
Which apps you have just opened, swipe through at the bottom of the screen. You just have to pull up a small amount, and I mean small, for the gesture to work. In fact, I found a quick movement of the thumb to work best. Otherwise, you risk going too far and triggering the app drawer.
There are also five apps at the bottom of the screen that do not match the apps you have in your dock. Android Pie automatically places apps based on your usage.
To access the app tray from any screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and bring your finger approximately to the center of the screen. As with the previous gesture, you can wipe from anywhere on the bottom of the screen – you do not have to start on the home button.
Switch quickly between apps
If you want to switch between two apps with little effort, press a finger on the Home button and quickly press your fingers to the right while lifting your finger
Scroll through the latest apps
Instead of vertically stacked map previews for recently used apps, Android Pie now displays maps horizontally. You can wipe through the cards in two different ways. You can either swipe right over the maps or as shown here, you can drag the Home button to the right side of the screen. When you reach the edge of the screen, hold down the Home button to continue scrolling. If you want to go back, move the house to the left.
Instant Close Apps
Force apps to close by opening the App Switcher and then swiping up the cards.
