A dramatic video shows Denver police swarming a Pinkerton security officer who is now accused of fatally shooting a protester in downtown on Saturday.
The clip, published by the Daily Mail, shows the fatal shot being fired and police immediately rush to arrest the suspect, who drops a gun while kneeling on the ground with his hands up.
The tragedy occurred right outside the Denver Art Museum after participants in a “Patriot Rally” mistook them for counter-demonstrators in response to Black Lives Matter, the Denver Post reported.
The stunning video shows a participant arguing with BLM members.
This participant then appears to be the security officer who had been hired by NBC subsidiary 9NEWS to protect, sprout or pepper its reporters covering the event, the broadcaster reported.
At that moment, the security guard allegedly returned fire, aimed a pistol and fired at close range at the rally participant who sprayed him, the Denver Post reported.
It is unclear which side of the protest ̵
The victim wore mostly black, as did members of Antifa – but had a red, white and blue headscarf around her neck.
Both the victim and the security guard who allegedly shot him were white.
Police said the guard was charged with murder.
The duel rallies took place in the city’s civic center. According to the Denver Post, right-wing protesters sang patriotic songs and made speeches.
Counter-protesters held a “BLM-Antifa Soup Drive” several hundred feet away and waved banners against white supremacy and National Socialism, the newspaper reported.
