There are many ways to carve a turkey. Some swear by the proven traditional method with a fork and a sharp blade, others would be lost without their electric knives. Regardless of your preference for utensils, you can not just chop off if you want the right pieces.
If you have never carved a turkey and have no idea what you are doing, this short little video from The Kitchn by Apartment Therapy's Maxwell Ryan is a good start. It shows the simplest method with nothing but a sharp knife.
First cut off the bird's legs, breasts and wings. Once removed, separate the legs into thighs and drumsticks. Then just sliced thighs and breast meat and place everything on a plate for serving.
