There are really only two options in the battle for the best Android flagship: Google Pixel phones and OnePlus phones. Although the latter is not a true Android stock, it is impressively close and usually paired with more impressive hardware than the Pixel lineup. The latest is the OnePlus 6T, which will be a bit controversial for fans this year.
With the exception of the first launch in 2014, OnePlus has released two phones each year. After the OnePlus X, the company decided to focus exclusively on flagship vehicles and created the T Series, a mid-year upgrade inspired by Apple's S series. OnePlus usually uses this series to add some changes to the previous phone. The changes are usually minor and are not enough to update the owners of the predecessor. However, since the T-Series comes out at about the same time as the Pixel Series, it appears to be a better alternative to the Pixel Series.
The OnePlus 6T is best described as upgrading and downgrading the OnePlus 6. There are some notable improvements over its predecessor, such as display and battery size. The problem is that for the first time, OnePlus removes a component that they put on the market earlier than an advantage over the competition. This will probably be a deal breaker for some, but if you overlook this omission, OnePlus remains one of the best smartphones on Android and, in a sense, a better pixel than Pixel 3.

The OnePlus 6T will include an even larger 6.4-inch AMOLED display. After removing the headphone jack, OnePlus was able to push the battery to an impressive 3,700 mAh. They will include an in-display fingerprint scanner, a first in the series, and one of the only phones released in the US that includes this feature.
Finally, this will be the first OnePlus device to receive official support from US carriers. OnePlus will make a variant for T-Mobile, which they will sell in stores. OnePlus will also work as an LTE-only device on Verizon Wireless, another premiere for the company.

OnePlus 6T has no IP rating. Because IP reviews cost money, OnePlus does not believe it is worth passing these costs on to the consumer. Therefore, while the 6T is more water resistant than its predecessor, it treats a small amount of dust, but we do not know to what extent.
With the addition of the larger screen comes a slight increase in length from 6.13 inches to 6.20 inches. OnePlus was able to reduce the width and depth by a few tenths of an inch, making the phone easier to handle. After all, OnePlus 6T is a little heavier with its 3,700 mAh battery and increases its weight by .11 ounces.
- Height: 6.20 inches
- Width: 2.95 inches Depth: 0.32 inches
- Weight: 6.35 ounces Dust / Water Resistance: Unrated

OnePlus releases the 6T the latest version of Android, 9.0 Pie. This should not surprise anyone as the OnePlus 6 was part of the Android Pie beta program and is currently also running this version of Android. Android 9.0 Pie is a pretty big update with gesture-driven navigation and new security enhancements.
The 6T runs on OxygenOS 6.0 on Android 9.0 Pie. This is pretty light skin that retains much of the visual design of Android with a few added enhancements. This new skin is bigger than updates in the past, as OnePlus has changed the interface design. It includes a number of enhancements, such as the ability to select themes for theme themes, enhanced non-annoying mode that better reproduces Android 9.0 Pie changes, improved game mode, and more.
Display OnePlus increases the size of the display by another 0.1 inches to 6.4 inches. With the larger screen comes a new resolution, 2340 x 1080. The panel is again Optic AMOLED, a Super AMOLED, which is calibrated by OnePlus to a different color temperature and contrast.
But what most users will notice is the much smaller display notch. Based on the design of the Oppo R17, OnePlus uses a water drop notch for the front camera

The OnePlus 6T should be very powerful, similar to its predecessor. In addition to the software improvements under the hood, there really is not much difference between the 6T and the 6. Both use Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, the SoC of choice for 2018 flagship phones. It will also come back with either 6 or 8GB of RAM.
- Memory: 6 GB or 8 GB RAM

- CPU Frequency: 2.8 GHz (Gold) + 1.8 GHz (Silver)

One of the biggest improvements of the 6T is the new larger battery. The 6T will contain a full 3,700 mAh battery, a capacity that is larger than that of the OnePlus 6 and the Pixel 3 XL. With the already amazing battery management of OxygenOS this should amount to one and a half days of battery life (if not more).

The biggest change that OnePlus fans will notice is the subtraction of the headphone jack. The same port that has existed and been marketed in every mobile phone since the OnePlus One has an advantage as OEMs left and right have decided to drop it. OnePlus' reason is the extra space for internals. For the 6T, this space results in a larger battery. In the future, they will be able to implement new technologies as they appear in mobile space.

OnePlus will receive official carrier support for the first time in the United States. You can now go to a T-Mobile store to try out and purchase the OnePlus 6T. OnePlus 6T will have a special variant for the third largest mobile service provider in the US, supporting all of its LTE tapes, including the new LTE 71.
The OnePlus 6T will be the first OnePlus phone to do so the LTE Band 13. The special feature of this band is that it is only used by Verizon Wireless in the USA. The remaining LTE tapes are shared by AT & T and T-Mobile. Recently, Verizon has only accepted LTE phones like the Asus Zenfone V, which have no CDMA radios. And with VoLTE and RCS Messaging both calls and texts are possible.
- Wi-Fi: 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, 2×2 MIMO
- Bluetooth: 5.0
- NFC: yes
- Cellular: nano SIM
- Port: USB Type-C
The most noticeable difference between the 6 and the 6T is the lack of a separate fingerprint scanner Look at the back and you will only see the two rear cameras and see the OnePlus logo. Does OnePlus believe the Face Unlock is safe enough to replace the fingerprint scanner? No, they opted instead for an in-display fingerprint scanner that places the scanner under the screen.
Screen Unlock (which OnePlus calls its implementation of technology) is a newer technology used with the Vivo X21 UD. As a new technology, there are some compromises, namely the limitation to OLED panels and the slower recognition rate. A big plus is that the front-facing fingerprint scanner is returning, which has not been possible lately as OnePlus reduced the aperture.
- Fingerprint Scanner: Yes (In-Display)
- Face Scanner: Yes (with the front camera)
- Iris Scanner: No
- Manual Authentication: Password, PIN, passcode, pattern, beat
OnePlus will contain a dongle for those who still use wired headphones and have released a new pair of bullet earphones that use USB-C. Not the same as adding the headphone jack, but it's something.
