A 21-year-old Florida amusement park employee fell to his death Monday while performing a routine safety check of what has been dubbed the world’s tallest swing ride.
Jacob David Kaminsky was about halfway up the 450-foot StarFlyer ride in ICON Park in Orlando when he fell onto the lowest platform, WKMG news channel reported.
He was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
“It’s a shock. We are sad about it. Every time there is an injury or something similar, it’s extremely sad, ”John Stine, ICON director of sales and marketing, told the outlet.
Stine said the trip would be suspended as authorities investigate the fatal incident.
