The first big trailer for Hobbs and Shaw, the spin-off movie from the Fast and Furious series, was expected to receive a high-profile slot during today's Super Bowlbut a longer version debuted Friday online – and here you can see it directly. The first thing you'll notice is that the focus on car thieves from the original series ran right out the window – and I have to admit that it looks like a total explosion.
As you can guess from the title, the new movie Dwayne "The Rock" brings Johnson and Jason Statham as assaulting frenemies Luke "Ice Cold Tin Whup-Ass" Hobbs and Deckard "Champagne Problem" Shaw. The trailer plays its rivalry with tons of gags between the formidable fighting and the outrageous stunts staged by John Wick anddirector David Leitch. Seriously, how much fun is this trailer?
This time, Hobbs and Shaw face a bullet-proof villain called Brixton, played by Idris Elba. The action moves from London to Samoa to the Chernobyl fallow, with things obviously being blown up on the way. Helen Mirren, Wrestler Roman Reigns and Vanessa Kirby of The Crown andalso star.
Fast and furious: Hobbs and Shaw are expected to fall in August 2019.
