The iPhone 11 series models have an ultra wide-angle lens for wider pictures, a night mode for better looking photos in low light and a 16: 9 frame for taking pictures. With these new functions comes a slightly revised user interface in the camera app, which has even received the second-generation iPhone SE, although only one of these three functions is available.
In the updated camera app, which is only available on the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, and iPhone SE (2nd generation), you may notice some missing shooting settings for older iPhone models, e.g. B. Filters for the timer and HDR options. The "square" mode for photos is also omitted where it has been available since iOS 7.
The settings for Flash and Live Photos are still in the toolbar, as is the case with older iPhone models with iOS 1
On an iPhone 11 or later with iOS 13 or later, the night mode setting in the toolbar only appears in low light conditions (except for the iPhone SE 2020). . HDR is only displayed if "Smart HDR" is deactivated under Settings -> Camera. What about the rest?
To find the other missing options, either tap the chevron icon in the toolbar, or swipe up anywhere on the trigger. The mode selection bar near the shutter changes to a hidden second toolbar. While the night mode option is only shown here in dim lighting (again with the exception of the iPhone SE 2020), you will find the timer and the filters as well as a 4: 3 button with which you can select the "Square" recording mode. as well as the 16: 9 mode.
The second toolbar also gives you another way to access the flash settings, live photo switching, and HDR if you have disabled "Smart HDR". Swipe down to close the toolbar or tap the inverted chevron.
On an iPhone X R and older with iOS 13 and below there is a swipe gesture, but this gives you only quick access allows to select a filter. So it's basically like tapping the filter button, just swiping. Swipe down to exit.
