Repositioning apps was a huge pain for most of iPhone history. Superficially, iOS 13 seems to aggravate the situation – with the new long gestures it takes longer for iOS to know that you want to move apps . That may be true, but iOS 13 has also introduced a way to make the process so much faster.
That's how it works. Instead of waiting for the app icon to wobble as usual, immediately pull your finger as soon as the app starts loading the quick action menu. You do not even need to see the menu – you can move the app as soon as it rebounds (see GIF below).
This is one of those tricks that changes the way you use your iPhone. It may seem small, but you will never want to return to the old ways. It even works with the multiple-selection gesture introduced in iOS 11, so you can reorder your home screen in no time!
