With Google Chrome 69, Google has started to automatically sign you up to the Chrome browser if you're signed in to a Google site like Gmail. Chrome 70, which is now available, has a hidden option to disable this feature.
We believe that most Chrome users will not care. But if you take care of that, Google will give you a choice now. And that's good news.
To find this new option, click menu> Settings in Chrome. Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings page and click "Advanced."
Enable the "Allow Chrome Login" option here.
If you do not see the option here, you probably will not use Chrome 70 yet. Click Menu> Help> About Google Chrome to manually check for updates.
Restart Chrome when prompted, and your new setting will take effect.
You can now sign in to the Google Account on the web. Chrome will not automatically sign you in to the Chrome browser – only on the Google website.
If you're already signed in to Chrome and want to sign out, go to Menu> Preferences and click the Sign Out button at the top of the Sign Out Settings screen.
