To prevent Windows 10 from automatically emptying the Recycle Bin

The memory detection feature of Windows 10 runs automatically when you have limited disk space. Files older than 30 days are also automatically deleted in the Recycle Bin. This was enabled by default on a PC running the May 201

9 update.

This is a useful feature! If you have limited space left on your computer, you probably want more. Windows deletes old files from the Recycle Bin. You should not save files in your trash anyway. However, if you want to prevent Windows from doing this automatically, you can do so.

To find these options, go to Settings> System> Memory. You can press Windows + I to quickly open the Settings window.

If you want to stop the automatic execution of Storage Sense, you can set the Storage Sense switch to "Off" here. To further configure Storage Sense, click Configure Storage Sense or Run Immediately.

You can use the Execute Storage Sense box to control when Windows 10 should run to automatically run Storage Sense. By default, "Low free space" is executed. You can also have it done every day, every week or every month.
