It's not enough to talk to Siri, Google Assistant and Cortana. Nowadays, Alexa seems to be the audio assistant of choice, the technology in the echo and Fire TV devices from Amazon, not to mention other speakers and third-party gadgets Alexas capabilities. Echo is a standalone wireless kick-kick speaker that only requires a power connection. Echo Dot can stand alone, but it will be brightest when connected to a larger speaker while the Echo Show speakers add a touch screen. They all have their differences, but when it comes to decor, they are essentially identical.
Download the Amazon Alexa app
It's free for iOS or Android and of course available for Fire OS on Amazon tablets – in fact, newer Fire tablets should probably already have them. (It does not support first- or second-generation Kindle Fire.)
If you do not work with smartphones, there is a web app that also does the setup.

You need an Amazon account to use Alexa, but you do not need Amazon Prime. Sign in to the app. Then click on the Hamburger menu () in the top left corner and select Add device. In the next screen, tap the Echo device you want to set up.

The echo light ring flashes blue for setup and orange for setup mode. If you do not see orange, press and hold the Action button for five seconds. At some point, Alexa will be alert and tell you that she is in setup mode.
4. Connect your smartphone or PC
You will be prompted to close the Alexa app and open your phone's Wi-Fi settings. Find and connect to an Amazon network (like "Amazon L39"). Return to the Alexa app to continue with the setup.
5. Setting Up Home Wi-Fi
Back in the Alexa app, a list of available Wi-Fi networks is displayed. Choose your home Wi-Fi. Enter the Wi-Fi password when asked if you have one. (You really should enter a password into the WLAN.) Once all the information has been sent to the device, Alexa says "Your echo is done" and the orange lights go out.
Note if you set this When you set up an Amazon device at home, you may have already saved the Wi-Fi password. Saving Wi-Fi passwords also works on tablets and Kindle e-book readers. Learn more about how Amazon handles stored Wi-Fi passwords.
. 6 Say, Alexa & # 39;
You can now ask your Alexa device to submit your bids. You can change the wake-up word from Alexa to Echo, Amazon or Computer via Settings> Device Settings> [Your Echo]> Wake-Word . Or connect your echo with music apps, external speakers and other echoes throughout the house.
