By default, videos in the Photos app on iOS 13 are automatically played in multiple instances, giving you quick and enhanced insights while surfing. However, this is not always ideal, especially if you're browsing through private or embarrassing videos and other eyes are on your screen. Fortunately, Apple has an easy way to disable this feature.
Disabling Automatic Video Playback
In iOS 13, photos are divided into four tabs: Photos For you albums and Search . The video auto-play feature is present in each of these four tabs, but only in the full-screen view and the responsive grid view (layout with squares of different sizes).
Auto-Play in the months View on the Photos tab, however this is not common. In the responsive grid view, videos play automatically only when they are in the larger fields.
Start the App Settings to turn off automatic video playback and go to Photos. Now scroll down and uncheck "Automatically play videos and live photos" in the Photos tab .
When If this option is disabled, videos in any of the four tabs will not automatically play in full-screen or responsive grid view unless you tap on the play button. Below are videos in both views that will not play automatically (unless manually played).
You can re-enable the feature on the same settings page if you want to play videos in the photo app again automatically.
Live photos are automatically played on each of the four tabs for a few seconds, but usually only in full-screen view. They are also automatically rendered under the views months and days on the photos tab, but it does not always work (potential error).
Sorry, you can not turn off automatic playback of live photos in full screen view, but you can disable them in views months and days the tab photos . To do this, you can turn off the same setting in the first section ( Settings -> Photos -> "Automatically play videos and live photos" ). If the setting is disabled, you can see below that live photos are still displayed automatically in full-screen view, but not in the view days .
