Shut Down with Physical Buttons
On almost all other Android smartphones or tablets, you can turn off the device by pressing and holding the power button. This action normally opens the Power menu, which allows you to turn off, restart, or more. Samsung's new flagship ships open Bixby's virtual assistant.
With the Galaxy Note 10 and 10 Plus Samsung included a new key combination to start the Power menu. Instead of just pressing the on / off button (called the Samsung side button), you must hold down the power button and volume knob for a few seconds at a time.
You can release both buttons when the power-on menu appears on the screen. Now all you have to do is tap "Turn Off" and your Samsung Galaxy Note 10 or 10 Plus will be turned off.
Pressing and holding the side key Action
As mentioned above, you can change the default behavior in Samsung by pressing and holding the power button. Here's how to change that if you'd rather jump right into the Start menu instead of starting Bixby.
First, swipe down from the top of the screen to display the notification shadow. Then tap the gear icon in the top right corner to open the settings menu.
Now tap on "Advanced Features" The item should be in the list of options in the middle.
Select "Page Button".
You can now change the default behavior of pressing the power button twice and the behavior of pressing and holding the button. In the "Press and hold" section, select "Power Off".
. Alternatively, you can access the page key. In the notification window, swipe down, tap the on / off icon, and select "Page Button Settings." You can then select "Power Off" as a Hold Action.
Turning off the Quick Control Panel
If you do not want to or can not use the physical buttons on the Galaxy Note 10 or 10 Plus to turn off the handset, Samsung has added a shortcut to the Power menu in the notification shadow.
Swipe to access Click down on the top of the screen of the phone to decrease the notification shadow. From there, tap the power icon in the upper right corner next to the button.
The Power menu is now loaded with several options to choose from. Tap "Power off" to turn off your device.
Shut Down with Bixby
The last option is to ask the Samsung Virtual Assistant, Bixby. to turn off your Samsung Galaxy Note 10 or 10 Plus.
To start, you must start Bixby. If you have not changed the default behavior by holding down the power button, you can do so to access the wizard. From there, say "Turn off the phone" and your handset should be off.
You can also access the Virtual Assistant from Bixby Home by swiping to the rightmost start screen. Here you can tap on the Bixby icon and say, "Turn off the phone." You do with Samsung's Bixby?
Turn your Note 10 or 10 Plus back on
Fortunately, Samsung has not changed how you turn the Galaxy Note 10 or 10 Plus back on. As with almost all other smartphones, all you have to do is hold down the power button for a few seconds. You can release as soon as the Samsung logo appears on the screen.
