One of the most obvious obstacles to possible intruders is an occupied house. Throw some chic lamps into your kitchen, living room, or veranda, plan to light them up at certain times of the night, and instantly make your house less attractive to the roguish thief.
One of the most wallet-friendly options: The Wyze pear. You can get one for $ 8 or four for $ 30 – not too much more than a normal LED bulb. These cheap home security devices connect directly to your Wi-Fi network and can be controlled from your mobile device using the mobile Wyze app. They are perfect to plan and forget.

While we are talking about deterrence, it might be worthwhile to think about dummy cameras. Especially for larger objects where you want to cover a lot of ground without breaking the bank, counterfeit security cameras can make your house look like a closed building. Here you can order a pack of four dummy cams for under $ 20.
Of course, the deterrence only brings you so far. If a burglar enters your home, you should still be alerted to the security breach by an alarm monitor or motion sensor.

If you are less interested in recording specific rooms and are more interested in monitoring the entrances to your home, the safety sensor kit may be better for you. Wyze is the security firm that's ahead again, with a $ 20 kit that includes a bridge (which connects to the Wyze WiFi camera and supports device communication), two door / window sensors, and a motion sensor contains.
For the price, this is a solid business. For a small apartment, or if you only cover your front and back doors, this kit could make you look super cheap with motion detection.

As a relatively new addition to the scope of the echo, Alexa Guard can keep an ear (or some far-field microphones) in your house when you're not there. An Echo Dot, which you can buy for $ 25 a lot, is the cheapest way to get Alexa Guard in your house. However, if you already have an echo, this monitoring service is totally free.
Just say "Alexa, I'm going" to turn the feature on. Then you hear echoes of broken glass, alarms, or sounds from people moving around in your house (it can make a difference between pets and people) – and you get a cell phone alert when you hear something.

It can be difficult for tenants to improve their safety, in part because the installation can be very expensive – especially if you're talking about clever pinch bolts. So if you want to offer a little more security without spending a lot of effort and without spending a lot of money, consider using an aftermarket lock like this one. While devices like this do not provide Wi-Fi connectivity, they do offer clever ways to add another barrier to burglars, which means a little peace of mind for the frightened homeowner.
