Troubleshooting the Echo Wall Clock



Recently Amazon temporarily suspended the sale of its Echo Wall Clock due to a fairly large breakdown. It turns out that some customers have problems connecting the watch to Alexa speakers. Without this connection, the Echo Wall Clock is only one o'clock.

If you're one of those people who will not get your watch working, you do not have to send them back and wait for new watches to ship. Here are some simple fixes that could fix the problem.

Check the Batteries

If your Echo Wall Clock displays the time but does not display timers from Alexa, CNET's Rich Brown has found a quick fix. Apparently the batteries supplied with the clock are not the best.

Try a new battery pack or remove the Amazon batteries and reinsert them. Both solutions eliminated the connection issues for Brown. When the LED turns blue, everything should work properly.

If you have decided to use batteries and the problem persists, unplug the power cord for 30 seconds and then reconnect it to reset the clock.

Try to reset Bluetooth.

If you disconnect your watch from Bluetooth and pair it again, this may be the trick you need. Go to the Alexa app, tap the Devices icon on the home screen, select your watch, and tap Forget Device . Then go to Menu> Settings> Device Settings> Connected Devices> Echo Wall Clock > Unpair .

Now that your watch has been removed, you can pair it again. Say "Alexa, set up my echo wall clock" to your Alexa device. Then set the watch to pairing mode by holding down the blue button on the back of the unit for 10 seconds.

The LED on the front of the watch glows orange when it is ready for pairing. When it turns blue, it's successfully paired with your Alexa device.

From there, the clock adjusts to the correct time and syncs with your Alexa device. This can take a few minutes. Please have a little patience. When all this is done, the LED lamp goes out and everything should work as it should.

Disabling Multi-Room Music

Alarms and Timers are not displayed on your Echo Wall Clock when paired with a speaker in a Multi-Room Music Group . You must remove the speaker from the group for the clock to work properly.

If you want to remove the speaker without ruining your group, go to the Alexa app and touch the Devices > Your Smart Home Skills > Speaker Groups . Find the speaker you want to decouple. Then tap Unpair Speaker System . The clock should now show your alarms and timers.
