Trump specifically targeted Black Lives Matter, a group that aims to combat police brutality and racial injustice.
“Black Lives Matter is a Marxist organization,” said Trump. “When I first heard about Black Lives Matter, I said, ‘That’s a terrible name.’ It’s so discriminatory. It’s bad for black people. It’s bad for everyone. “
Trump called companies that donated to Black Lives Matter “weak” causes and said they would take the “easiest route”.
“It’s not the easy way,” he said. “It’s a very dangerous way.”
The president previously said the phrase “Black Lives Matter” painted in front of Trump Tower in New York and near the White House in Washington was a “symbol of hatred”.
The president’s comments came as protests in Portland, Oregon and Kenosha, Wisconsin have become violent in recent days. An Illinois teenager reportedly shot dead two protesters in Wisconsin last week when police shot Jacob Blake.
A man was killed in clashes between right-wing groups and left-wing protesters in Portland on Saturday. The man who died has been linked to the right wing group Patriot Prayer. A suspect in the shooting has not been identified.
Trump did not condemn the Kenosha suspect, who reportedly had previously attended a president’s rally. Trump instead argued that the suspect may have acted in self-defense.

“Biden is not going to calm things down. You will take over. You will have won,” Trump said. “If Biden comes in, they win.
“They will have taken over your cities. It’s a revolution,” he continued. “You understand that. It’s a revolution. And the people of this country won’t stand for it.”
Biden on Monday condemned the violence that has emerged from the recent riots. He accused the president of inciting violence and suggested that the White House consider it politically beneficial.
“This president long ago lost all moral leadership in this country,” said Biden in Pennsylvania. “He cannot stop the violence because he has fomented it for years.”
