Democrats and some Republicans are preparing the public for a revival of interventionist foreign policy if Joe Biden is elected president, Tucker Carlson warned on Wednesday.
The host of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” dedicated the opening segment of his program to the reaction that followed President Trump’s announcement that the number of US troops in Iraq would be cut by more than 40% by the end of this month.

According to the host, Trump is the only person in Washington who disagrees with the idea that “the more troops we send overseas, the better”.
“He’s talked tirelessly about bringing home the troops from countries around the world,” said Carlson, “and perhaps more than any other reason such a talk makes the official Washington hate Donald Trump.”
The announcement of a reduced footprint in Iraq should spark “widespread celebration,” argued Carlson.
“That means families are united, Americans are out of the way. But very few party in Washington. The press corps, including some people who should know better, is still telling you how much Donald Trump hates and wants the troops that they’re dying – the guy who brings them home, “he said.

Carlson concluded by warning voters that if Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s Democratic ticket is elected, they will “plan a new war, this one in the distant and strategically irrelevant nation of Syria.”
