Tucker Carlson, the host of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” described an alleged cover-up in the Nashville Mayor’s office as “unforgivable” on Thursday.
Carlson said a reporter from FOX 17 Nashville had received emails from the office of Democratic Mayor John Cooper “discussing the fact that very few cases have been traced back to bars and restaurants in the city.”
As of June 30, bars and restaurants had only caused 22 cases of the virus, compared to more than 1,000 in Nashville nursing homes, private data in the mayor’s office showed, Carlson said.
“Numbers like this could be good news for the city of Nashville. Bars and restaurants there have been suffering from strict COVID restrictions for months, “he said.

A Nashville Health Department official checked the numbers and emailed the mayor last summer saying, “This is not going to be published publicly, is it? Only information for the mayor̵
“Why are you so afraid to tell us the real numbers? You know the answer, the more data you have about the virus, the more facts, the more science, the less afraid you are,” said Carlson. “And that’s why they always emphasize how many people died – nearly 200,000 – but almost never who died.”

“If you know the details, you might find that having a drink in a Nashville bar or sending your kids to school in person is not a very small risk for anyone,” he added.
Carlson noted that the “restrictions and terrible policies” of politicians like Mayor Cooper “are causing far more damage to this country and its people than the virus itself.”

He said the virus remains as always: “An overwhelming threat to the elderly and to people who are already sick. This doesn’t mean COVID-19 isn’t dangerous. Of course it is … It just isn’t dangerous.” for the vast majority of the people being destroyed by COVID-19 restrictions and that is unforgivable. “
