Alexa has become even more powerful on Windows 10. Amazon used to bring Alexa to Windows, but Wake Words only worked on some PCs. Now Alexa can run in the background and search for "Alexa" commands on any PC.
Amazon's Language Assistant is more powerful than the built-in Windows 1
To get Alexa for Windows 10, install the Alexa app from the store. Launch it and complete the setup process to sign in to your Amazon account.
Allow Alexa when prompted. Finally, you will be asked to activate the handsfree mode. In hands-free mode, Alexa hears the word "Alexa" in the background just like an Amazon Echo. This can cause a laptop to consume more battery power. During the setup process, click "Turn on Handsfree" to turn it on.
By default, Alexa starts automatically when you start your PC. It must be started and run in the background to hear the word "Alexa".
Say "Alexa" aloud and start talking to use Alexa on your PC.
Disable Hands-Free Mode and Save Battery Launch the Alexa app and click or tap the Hands-Free button to the right of the blue Alexa button. You can still open the Alexa app and click the Alexa button to talk to Alexa.
Alexa stops listening when you close the application. Open Alexa again to use it again.
