Text conversations can quickly become confusing. By the time you need to reply to your friend, they can send you one, two, three or more messages. After you send the original answer, it does not make sense in the context of the chat. Eliminate the confusion with Facebook Messenger's "new" answer feature, which shows you and your friend exactly what message you're responding to.
We reissue because this feature is new to Messenger only. WhatsApp, another Facebook product, has been able to answer quoted text for some time. But who holds the points? If you're an avid messenger user, you'll love the feature in the ever-expanding arsenal of the chat app.
Quote responses are surprisingly easy to execute. The first option is to press the message for a long time and then tap the answer arrow that appears at the end of the answer options. Alternatively, you can also swipe in the message to the right to immediately jump to a quote response (swipe left for your own message).
The keyboard pops up and it says "Replying [The Person̵
You can even reply to answers, but no thread is started. The only message to be quoted is the one you are responding to, not the one she quoted.
You'll find that the color scheme of the citation responses matches your chat. When you reply to a friend's message or a friend's quote answers his or her own message, the quote appears in gray and corresponds to your friend's chat bubble. If you respond to yourself or if a friend's answer to one of your messages answers, the quote matches the chat color you choose.
